When is Argentina busiest with international visitors, and when is it quietest?
January had the most international tourist arrivals in 2025, with 12.6% of the year's total. May had the fewest, with 5.9%. That makes January 2.1 times as busy as May.1
Seven months each had less than an average month's share of 8.3%: April, May, June, July, August, September and October.
Where do Argentina's international visitors come from?
INDEC does not publish a full-year 2025 breakdown by country of residence in the files we used, so we do not show one.
What exactly is counted?
INDEC, Argentina's national statistics institute, counts tourists in its figures for incoming tourism: non-resident visitors who stay at least one night, by every route of entry. It publishes them in thousands, to one decimal place, and we show them exactly as published. Same-day visitors are counted separately and are not included.1
Other countries count arrivals differently, which is why we do not rank Argentina against the others on the overview page.
June or September? May or October?
June was quieter than September, at 6.0% against 7.1%.
May was quieter than October, at 5.9% against 7.3%.
These compare months at similar distances from the middle of the year. They say nothing about weather, which we have not measured.
What these figures cannot tell you
Arrivals are not crowds. A month with many arrivals can still feel quiet if visitors stay briefly or spread out, and a national total cannot show how busy one city, park or beach is.
They say nothing about length of stay, weather or prices. This page has no weather or price data.
The 2025 figures are provisional. INDEC marks them “Dato provisorio”, so they can still change.1
